GWM Bakkie Branding, Tank Off-Road PPF & Wraps

Fleet branding for GWM P-Series bakkies, off-road PPF for the Tank 300 and 500, and colour change wraps for the Ora.

GWM covers very different vehicles: the P-Series bakkie in single cab and double cab form, the larger P500, the Tank 300 and Tank 500 off-roaders and the compact Ora electric hatch. A company running ten P-Series single cabs, a Tank 300 owner heading for the Drakensberg and an Ora driver who wants a new colour need quite different work, so we plan each type separately.

Car Colour Wraps is an independent workshop in Rivonia, Sandton, and is not affiliated with GWM or its dealers. We use 3M and Avery Dennison vinyl films for wraps and branding. If you drive a Haval Jolion or H6, see our separate Haval page.

P-Series and P500 bakkie branding for fleets

P-Series bakkies are widely used as work vehicles, and businesses often brand them with logos, contact details and service lists on the doors, load bin sides and tailgate. Single cabs have long, flat load bin sides that suit clear lettering, while double cabs and the P500 give more door area for larger graphics. Canopies, roll bars and load bin accessories are checked before design, and rear windows only take perforated film where this is legally appropriate. Reflective branding must not imitate emergency-vehicle markings.

For larger rollouts, we have capacity to wrap up to 50 vehicles a week and guarded, covered storage for up to 200 vehicles. Ask us whether on-site installation is possible for your fleet project.

Off-road PPF for the Tank 300 and Tank 500

Gravel roads, sand and bush tracks throw stones and scrape branches along the lower body. Clear paint protection film on the bonnet, front bumper, wheel arch flares, lower doors and sills is designed to absorb this kind of impact while keeping the original colour visible. On the Tank 300, the upright, flat bonnet and squared-off flares take a lot of debris; on the Tank 500, the long sides and rear quarters are worth considering too.

No film prevents every mark: a hard rock strike or deep branch scrape can still damage PPF and the paint beneath it. Vinyl colour wraps are thinner and more likely to tear off-road, so we often suggest PPF on the exposed lower areas even when the rest of the vehicle is wrapped.

Satin, matte and chrome delete

Matte and satin finishes suit the Tank 300’s boxy shape, with olive, sand and grey tones being popular, subject to material availability. Matte film needs specific care after dusty trips: rinse grit off before washing and never polish it. A chrome delete in gloss or satin black covers grille surrounds, badges, mirror caps and handles on P-Series and Tank models; textured plastic trims are assessed first, as film doesn’t always bond to them.

The Ora’s rounded, retro bodywork has deep compound curves on the bumpers and around the round headlights. Satin pastels or a gloss contrast roof suit it well, and the charging flap is checked so it still opens freely.

Sensors and practical points

Tank and Ora models use radar, cameras and parking sensors, and P-Series derivatives have reversing cameras in the tailgate. We keep film clear of these and of all lights. Tell your insurer about any wrap or branding, and check your finance agreement before a colour change. Our 5-year workmanship guarantee covers our installation workmanship only, not the lifespan of the film or colour.
