Bonnet Wraps
A contrast or printed bonnet in vinyl, planned around vents, washer jets and engine bay heat. Not a substitute for PPF.
Off-road styling, bonnet and roof wraps and PPF against bush scratches for the Wrangler, Grand Cherokee and Compass.
The Wrangler, Grand Cherokee and Compass appeal to drivers who like a vehicle with some attitude, and many of them really do leave the tar, whether for a weekend in the Magaliesberg or a gravel road to a game farm. Owners usually ask about off-road styling, bonnet and roof wraps, darker trim and protecting the paint from bush and stone damage.
Car Colour Wraps is an independent workshop in Rivonia and is not affiliated with or approved by Jeep. We use 3M and Avery Dennison vinyl films for wraps and offer clear paint protection film for impact-prone areas.
The Wrangler’s flat bonnet, upright grille and removable roof panels and doors make it one of the most personalised vehicles around. Bonnet graphics, matte or satin bonnets, side graphics and contrast hard-top roofs are popular. Because doors and roof panels can come off, we plan seams so they look right whichever way you drive, and we work around hinges, latches and seals. The grille and lights are assessed individually.
Thorn bushes and overhanging branches on narrow tracks can leave fine scratches along the sides of a vehicle, and gravel roads throw up stones. Clear paint protection film on the bonnet, front bumper, wings, mirrors, lower doors and sills is designed to absorb this kind of light impact and scuffing. It reduces the risk of damage but cannot stop every scratch, and heavy contact with rocks or branches can still damage the film and the paint beneath. PPF does not change the colour.
The Grand Cherokee is a large, premium SUV, and owners often want a satin colour change, a black roof or a chrome delete on window surrounds and lower trims. The Compass is smaller and suits a contrast roof, black mirror caps and bonnet accents. Many versions of both carry parking sensors, cameras and radar for driver-assistance features, which we leave uncovered. Unpainted, textured wheel-arch flares and cladding don’t hold vinyl well and are usually left as they are.
Vinyl wrap is thinner than PPF and can tear on branches or rocks, so if you go properly off-road, a wrap may need repair work from time to time. Wash off mud and dust promptly, and keep a pressure washer at a distance and away from film edges.
Tell your insurer about any wrap, and check with your licensing authority whether a full colour change needs to be recorded. Our 5-year workmanship guarantee covers our installation workmanship, not the lifespan of the film or colour, or damage from off-road use.
