Partial Vehicle Wraps
Wrap selected panels such as the roof, bonnet, mirrors or pillars for contrast or a two-tone look, without covering the whole car.
Partial wraps, contrast roofs and mirror caps, plus PPF, for the Renault Kwid, Kiger, Triber and Duster.
The Kwid, Kiger, Triber and Duster are some of the most practical and affordable vehicles on South African roads, and many of them are first cars, family runabouts or daily commuters around Sandton and Johannesburg. Because owners are often watching their budget, many ask about smaller jobs that still make a visible difference: a contrast roof, black mirror caps, a bonnet stripe or a chrome delete rather than a full colour change.
Car Colour Wraps is an independent wrap and paint protection film workshop in Rivonia. We are not affiliated with or approved by Renault or its dealers. We use 3M and Avery Dennison vinyl films for wraps, and this page explains what can be done on each model and what to think about first.
A partial wrap covers selected panels rather than the whole vehicle, so it uses less material and less labour than a full colour change. On compact cars like the Kwid and Kiger, a gloss black roof, black mirror caps and darkened pillars can change the character of the car without touching the main body colour. Because the quote depends on the panels chosen, the material and the condition of the paint, you can start small and add more later.
The Kwid’s small panels and SUV-inspired cladding suit simple accents, and its unpainted black plastics already give a two-tone base to build on. Many Kiger and Triber versions have roof rails, which we work around or wrap in a matching colour. The Duster’s taller, squarer body suits satin and matte finishes as well as bonnet decals, and on newer Duster models the bolder grille and lighting design is assessed before we plan any trim work.
Textured, unpainted plastic trim does not hold vinyl well, so these parts are usually left as they are.
Many Renaults in this segment are bought second-hand, and some have had panels resprayed after minor bumps. Resprayed or sun-faded paint can lift when film is removed later, so we check each panel before quoting. Reverse cameras, parking sensors on higher-spec versions and lights are trimmed around and never covered. If a panel has stone chips or rust, film will not hide it, and we’ll tell you if repair work makes sense first.
Clear paint protection film on the bonnet, front bumper and mirrors is designed to absorb stone chips. It does not change the colour, and it can be applied to selected areas if a full front end is more than you need. If your Kwid or Triber is used for deliveries or a small business, logos and lettering in vinyl can be applied and removed later.
Tell your insurer about any wrap, and check with your licensing authority whether a full colour change needs to be recorded. Our 5-year workmanship guarantee covers our installation workmanship only; it doesn’t cover how long the film or colour lasts.
