Toyota Hilux GD-6 Wraps, Fleet Branding & PPF

Branding, chrome delete, black packs, canopy graphics and PPF for Hilux GD-6 Raider, Legend and GR-Sport bakkies.

The diesel Hilux GD-6 is one of the most common bakkies on South African roads, from single cab workhorses on building sites to extra cabs on farms and double cab Raider, Legend and GR-Sport derivatives used as family and weekend vehicles. Each type tends to need something different, so we plan the work around how your Hilux is actually used.

Car Colour Wraps is an independent workshop in Rivonia, Sandton, and is not affiliated with Toyota or its dealers. We use 3M and Avery Dennison vinyl films for wraps and branding. Our general Toyota page covers the wider range; this page is about the Hilux GD-6 only.

Single, extra and double cab: what changes

Cab shape decides how much space branding has. A single cab has long load bin sides and short doors, so logos and contact details often sit on the bin. An extra cab adds the small rear-hinged door panel, which needs layouts that still read when it opens. A double cab gives four doors for branding or a cleaner lifestyle look, and its tailgate suits a simple call to action.

Workhorse bakkies usually get practical, legible branding. Lifestyle Hiluxes more often get styling changes such as a black pack or a contrast roof.

Chrome delete and black packs

Legend derivatives in particular carry bright trim on the grille, door handles and mirrors. A chrome delete covers these in gloss or satin black vinyl and can be removed later. A full black pack adds the roof, bonnet, badges and mirror caps for a darker look on a white or silver Hilux. The busy grille is assessed piece by piece, because some inserts are better left in their factory finish, and any sensors or cameras on newer derivatives are left uncovered.

Fleet branding, canopies and conspicuity

Many companies run Hilux fleets, and consistent logo size and placement makes every bakkie recognisable even when cab types and canopies differ. Canopy side panels can take lettering, and rear canopy windows may take perforated graphics where legally appropriate. Textured or older canopies are checked first.

For work fleets, reflective conspicuity markings along the sides and rear can make bakkies easier to see at night; check what applies to your vehicles, and note that reflective materials must not imitate emergency-vehicle markings. We can wrap up to 50 vehicles a week and offer guarded, covered storage for up to 200 vehicles, which helps with staged rollouts. Ask us whether on-site installation is possible for your fleet project.

Front-end PPF and resale

Gravel roads and highway driving behind trucks chip the bonnet edge, front bumper, wings and mirrors. Clear paint protection film on these areas is designed to absorb stone chips and keeps the original colour visible. It doesn’t change the colour and won’t hide existing chips, so touch these up first.

Because the Hilux holds its appeal on the used market, many owners keep the factory colour and use removable vinyl for branding or styling. On healthy factory paint, film usually removes cleanly before resale, but resprayed or damaged panels can lift. Our 5-year workmanship guarantee covers our installation workmanship only, not the lifespan of the film or colour.
