Chery Tiggo Wraps, Chrome Delete & PPF

Chery’s Tiggo SUVs have become a common sight in Gauteng, and many owners come to us soon after buying. Typically, they want to tone down the chrome, add a contrast roof or protect the new paint before it picks up its first chips.

Car Colour Wraps is an independent workshop in Rivonia and is not affiliated with Chery or its dealers. We use 3M and Avery Dennison vinyl films for wraps and chrome delete. Here is what to consider for your Tiggo.

Chrome delete on the Tiggo range

Tiggo models have chrome or bright finishes on the grille, window surrounds, lower bumpers and side trims. Wrapping these in gloss or satin black gives the vehicle a more modern, darker look. Because the original trim stays underneath, the change can be reversed later. Grille inserts with detailed patterns are assessed individually, because some can’t be wrapped neatly and look better left as they are. Plastic trims with a textured surface also need checking, since film doesn’t always bond well to them. We agree with you which pieces are included before work starts, so there are no surprises when you collect the vehicle.

Roofs and full colour changes

A gloss black roof suits the Tiggo 4 Pro and 7 Pro, particularly in white or silver. On the larger Tiggo 8 Pro, a full colour change in satin grey or matte black is a popular choice, subject to material availability. Panoramic sunroof edges, roof rails and aerials are checked before cut lines are planned.

If your Tiggo is financed, check your agreement before changing the colour, and tell your insurer about any wrap.

PPF on new paint

Fitting clear paint protection film soon after delivery means it goes onto paint that is still in good condition. PPF on the bonnet, bumper, wings and mirrors is designed to absorb stone chips and leaves the colour visible. It is a separate product from vinyl and doesn’t change the colour. Before fitting, we inspect the paint for transport marks or small defects, because film won’t hide them. You can choose front-end coverage only or extend the film to areas such as the rear bumper loading edge or the full vehicle, depending on how and where you drive.

Sensors, cameras and lighting

Tiggo models use surround-view cameras, parking sensors and radar for driver-assistance features. We never cover these or the lights, and we trim around them precisely. Before work starts, we note where each sensor sits so the cut lines avoid them. Our 5-year workmanship guarantee covers our installation workmanship, not how long the film or colour lasts.
