Front End Paint Protection Film
Clear PPF on the bumper, bonnet, front wings and mirrors – the areas that face most road debris.
PPF, colour changes and livery details for Ferrari models, planned around complex aero, vents and low ground clearance.
A Ferrari Roma, 296 GTB, F8 Tributo, SF90 Stradale or Purosangue is driven on the same Gauteng roads as everything else, with highway stone chips, steep driveways and parkade ramps. Most Ferrari owners who come to us are thinking first about paint protection film, and sometimes about a colour change or livery details.
Car Colour Wraps is an independent workshop in Rivonia with no link to Ferrari. Below we explain how the shape and engineering of these cars affect wrap and PPF work, so you can decide what makes sense for yours.
Ferraris sit low and have long, sloping front ends, so the bumper, splitter area, bonnet and leading edges of the front wings catch the most stone chips. Clear paint protection film is designed to absorb this kind of impact, and full front-end coverage is the usual recommendation. Many owners extend coverage to the side intakes, sills and the rear haunches behind the wheels, where debris thrown up by the tyres can mark the paint.
Paint condition matters. If the car has been resprayed or already has chips, we assess this first, because PPF cannot repair damage and may not bond well to poor paint.
Modern Ferraris have deep intakes, flying buttresses, active aero elements and vents that channel air around the body. Film has to be cut and wrapped precisely around these openings, and some areas are left uncovered because they are too deep, too hot or move in use. Active spoilers and flaps must be able to operate freely. Exposed carbon fibre parts are not wrapped in colour; clear PPF can be considered where protection is wanted.
A full colour change in vinyl lets you try a different look on a Ferrari while the factory paint stays underneath. Satin and matte finishes, gloss colours and partial details such as a contrast roof, stripes or mirror caps are all possible using 3M and Avery Dennison vinyl films, subject to material availability. Racing-style stripes and number roundels can be designed as decals, but we don’t reproduce Ferrari logos or trademarked artwork.
Because of the many seams and openings, a full wrap on a Ferrari needs more planning than a typical sedan. Timing is confirmed with the quote once we have seen the car.
Low ground clearance affects how the car is driven in and positioned, so let us know when you book whether your car has a front-axle lift system and anything else we should know about handling it. Tell your insurer about any wrap, and check with your licensing authority whether a full colour change needs to be reflected on your registration. Our 5-year workmanship guarantee covers our installation workmanship; it isn’t a promise about how long a film lasts.
