Ford Ranger Raptor Wraps, Graphics & Paint Protection

Raptor colour changes, contrast roofs and bonnets, side graphics and PPF planned around flares, vents and off-road use.

The Ranger Raptor is built to be driven hard on dirt, and it looks the part with wide fender flares, a vented bonnet and big lettering across the grille. Owners usually want to make that shape stand out even more, or tone it down, and then protect it from the gravel and bush it was designed for.

Car Colour Wraps is an independent wrap and PPF workshop in Rivonia, Sandton, and is not affiliated with Ford or its dealers. We use 3M and Avery Dennison vinyl films for wraps and graphics. This page covers the Raptor specifically; general Ranger, Everest and bakkie branding is covered on our Ford page.

Working with the Raptor’s flares, vents and lettering

The flared arches change the way a full wrap is laid out. Film has to follow the step between the flare and the door or wing, so we plan where seams and relief cuts fall before installation and show you where they will sit. Depending on the finish of your flares, they can be wrapped to match the body, wrapped in a contrast colour or left as they are.

The bonnet vents are cut around rather than forced into, which keeps edges neat and lets the vents keep working. The large grille lettering can be blacked out, colour-matched or left standing out, and front cameras, parking sensors and lights are never covered. We don’t reproduce Ford trademarks in graphics.

Colour changes, contrast panels and graphics

Satin and matte finishes suit the Raptor’s muscular shape, and full colour changes in satin greys, matte black or earthy desert tones are common requests, subject to material availability. If you want a smaller change, a contrast roof and bonnet in black or grey gives a strong two-tone look while most of the factory colour stays visible.

Side graphics and stripes work well along the lower doors and bed sides. Desert-racing style liveries, with numbers, panels and bold shapes, are popular too, but we only produce these to your own design or one we create with you. We don’t copy factory or race-team liveries.

Load bin, sports bar and accessories

Raptors often carry a sports bar, roller shutter, roof rack, side steps or spotlights. Where it’s practical, removable accessories are taken off so film can wrap behind them, then refitted; otherwise we trim neatly around them. Roller shutters and textured load bin surfaces generally don’t hold film well, so we check them before quoting. If you plan to fit new accessories soon, it’s worth doing that first so we can plan around the final setup.

PPF for gravel, stones and bush

Clear paint protection film is a different product from vinyl: it doesn’t change the colour and is designed to absorb stone chips and scuffs. On a Raptor, the bonnet, front bumper, the leading edges of the flares and the lower doors take the most punishment from gravel roads and bush tracks, so these are the usual areas for PPF. It can be combined with a colour change or contrast panels.

Film reduces the risk of chips but can’t stop deep scratches from thorns or rocks, and it won’t hide damage that is already there. Rinse off mud and dust after a trip rather than letting it sit. Our 5-year workmanship guarantee covers our installation workmanship only, not the lifespan of the film or colour.
