Can you do a Union Jack roof on my Mini?

Yes, if you supply the artwork or approve a design we prepare with you. We show you a proof and the planned layout on the roof before anything is printed or applied.

Can stripes be removed later?

Well-applied vinyl stripes on healthy factory paint usually remove cleanly. Resprayed or damaged paint can lift, and old, sun-baked film takes longer to remove and may leave adhesive, so we assess the paint before applying.

Is a full colour change practical on a Countryman?

Yes, the Countrymanu2019s larger, flatter panels wrap well. Roof rails, door handles and sensors need careful trimming, and we discuss where seams will fall before starting.

The Mini Cooper, Countryman and John Cooper Works are made for personalisation. A contrast roof and mirror caps are almost part of the Mini look, and many owners want to take it further with stripes, a new body colour or accents that reflect their own taste.

Car Colour Wraps is an independent workshop in Rivonia, Sandton, with no affiliation to Mini or the BMW Group. We use 3M and Avery Dennison vinyl films for wraps. Here is how we approach common Mini requests.

Roof and mirror contrast

If your Mini left the factory with a body-coloured roof, wrapping the roof and mirror caps in black, white, silver or another contrast colour is one of the most effective changes for the size of the job. If it already has a contrast roof, the roof can be wrapped in a new colour to suit a fresh scheme. We plan the edges around roof seams, the aerial and the sunroof, and wrap mirror caps carefully around indicators and cameras where fitted.

Stripes and bonnet graphics

Twin bonnet stripes, side stripes and chequered accents suit the Mini’s compact proportions. Stripes are cut to follow the bonnet shape and planned around the bonnet scoop on sportier models, the badge and the washer jets. We confirm widths, spacing and colours with you before cutting, and stripes can be continued over the roof and boot if you want a full-length look.

Union Jack-style accents and custom artwork

Union Jack-style roof and mirror designs are a well-known Mini theme. We apply these only from artwork that you supply or approve, and we check the layout with you before printing or cutting. The same applies to any custom design: you sign off the proof first, and you are responsible for having the right to use any logo or artwork you provide. Printed designs are planned so key details don’t fall across panel gaps.

John Cooper Works, PPF and practical points

John Cooper Works models have deeper bumpers, larger intakes and a rear spoiler, which add seams and relief cuts to a full wrap. Clear paint protection film on the bonnet, front bumper and mirrors is designed to absorb stone chips and is worth considering on a car with a short, low front end. Sensors, cameras and lights are always left uncovered.
