Omoda Wraps, Brightwork Delete & Paint Protection

Brightwork delete, contrast roofs and mirrors, satin colour changes and PPF for the Omoda C5, C9 and electric models.

Omoda’s styling is deliberately bold: the C5 crossover has a sharp, angular nose and a wide patterned grille, and the larger C9 adds a long bonnet and a more formal front end. The electric version of the C5, sold here as the E5, swaps the grille for a smoother closed panel. Because the design is already expressive, owners usually come to us to sharpen it rather than hide it – less brightwork, a contrast roof or a satin finish.

Car Colour Wraps is an independent workshop in Rivonia, Sandton. We are not affiliated with Omoda, Chery or any dealer. We use 3M and Avery Dennison vinyl films for wraps and trim, and clear paint protection film where stone-chip protection is the aim.

Brightwork delete on the C5 and C9

Omoda models use bright and satin-chrome detailing in places you might not expect: the dotted pattern across the C5’s grille, the slats and surround on the C9, the window line, door trims, lower bumper blades and lettering on the tailgate. Covering the smooth, flat pieces in gloss black, satin black or a dark grey vinyl gives a more cohesive look, and the change can be reversed later. The dotted and slatted grille inserts are the exception: they are assessed piece by piece, because film can’t always be worked neatly into small raised elements, and some look better left as they are or blacked out only on the surround.

  • Window line and belt trims
  • Grille surround (inserts assessed individually)
  • Lower bumper blades and side trims
  • Tailgate lettering and badges
  • Roof rail finishers on suitable versions

Contrast roofs, mirrors and satin colour changes

Depending on the derivative and colour, your Omoda may already have a black roof. If it is body-coloured, a gloss black roof with matching mirror caps sharpens the C5’s coupe-like profile, while on the C9 a black roof and pillars make the long body look lower.

For a full change, satin finishes suit Omoda’s creased panels because they show the body lines without the reflections of gloss. Satin greys, deep greens and satin black are common requests, subject to material availability. The C5’s sharp bumper corners need careful stretching and, in places, a planned seam, which we show you before work starts.

PPF on new paint, sensors and ADAS cameras

Shortly after delivery is a good time to fit clear paint protection film on the bonnet, front bumper, wings and mirrors. PPF is designed to absorb stone chips and does not change the colour. We still inspect the paint first for transport or preparation marks, because film won’t hide them.

Both models rely on driver-assistance systems: a front radar, a camera behind the windscreen, surround-view cameras in the grille, mirrors and tailgate, and parking sensors. We never cover radar areas, cameras or lights, and we trim precisely around sensors. On the E5 and plug-in hybrid versions where offered, the charging flap is checked so it opens and closes normally.

Check your new-vehicle warranty first

Exterior film is a cosmetic addition, but warranty and service-plan terms vary. Before booking, read your warranty booklet or ask your dealer whether aftermarket film affects any cover, particularly on painted panels and trim. Tell your insurer about any wrap, and for a full colour change check with your licensing authority whether your registration details need updating. Our 5-year workmanship guarantee covers our installation workmanship only, not how long the film or colour lasts.
