Porsche Wraps, Branding & Paint Protection

Colour change wraps, stripes and PPF for the Porsche 911, Cayenne, Macan, Taycan and Panamera, planned around deep curves.

The Porsche 911, Cayenne, Macan, Taycan and Panamera are all familiar in Sandton, and each brings different considerations for wrapping and paint protection. A 911’s rear haunches, a Cayenne’s large bumpers and a Taycan’s smooth, sweeping panels all call for careful film work.

At Car Colour Wraps in Rivonia we install vinyl colour change wraps using 3M and Avery Dennison films, as well as clear paint protection film. We are independent and not associated with Porsche. Here’s how we approach Porsche models.

Curves, bumpers and the 911 shape

The 911’s defining curves – the raised front wings, sloping bonnet and wide rear haunches – mean vinyl is stretched over compound shapes. Careful installation keeps stretch within the film’s limits, because overstretched film can lose colour depth or lift later. The front and rear bumpers on GTS, Turbo and GT models have deep intakes and sharp lips, so seams are planned and discussed upfront.

On the Cayenne and Macan, the large bumpers, wheel arch trims and roof spoiler are the main areas to plan. On the Taycan, the long, smooth doors and low bonnet make finish quality very visible, so panel preparation and edge work matter.

Moving parts, sensors and lighting

Several Porsche models have active rear spoilers or active aero flaps, and film is applied so these parts move freely. Radar for adaptive cruise, parking sensors, cameras and the full-width rear light bar on newer models are left uncovered or trimmed precisely. Charging flaps on Taycan and E-Hybrid models are checked so they still open and close normally after installation.

Finishes, stripes and partial wraps

Porsche owners often choose greys and greens inspired by heritage colours, satin finishes that show off the body shape, or gloss black roofs and mirror caps, subject to material availability. Side stripes along the lower doors and racing stripes over the bonnet and roof are popular partial projects. Chrome delete for window trims and badges suits Cayenne and Panamera models that still have bright trim.

Paint protection film on a Porsche

PPF is a clear film designed to absorb stone chips and scuffs. The 911’s front bumper and the leading edge of the rear haunches, just behind the doors, catch a lot of debris, so many owners add sill and rear arch coverage to a front-end package. Full-vehicle PPF suits cars kept for the long term or finished in a special colour, subject to the paint’s condition. Our 5-year workmanship guarantee covers our installation work, not the lifespan of the film.
