Limousine Wraps & Branding

Colour changes, chrome accents, discreet branding and PPF for stretch limousines and executive sedans and SUVs used for hire.

A hire limousine is judged the moment it pulls up outside a wedding venue, a school hall on matric farewell night or a hotel entrance for a VIP pickup. Its finish has to look flawless in photos, under flash and in daylight, often in a colour that suits the occasion rather than the colour it left the factory in.

This page is for limousine and chauffeur companies running stretch limousines, executive sedans and luxury SUVs, as well as private owners of extended vehicles. We plan and install the work at our workshop in Rivonia, Sandton.

About this service

A limousine wrap uses colour-change vinyl over the existing paint to give the vehicle a new colour or finish, such as gloss black, gloss white, satin or a bolder colour for a themed fleet. Chrome accents, chrome delete on window surrounds and small, understated logos can be added on their own or alongside a colour change. On a stretch limousine the main challenge is length: the extended side panels are often longer than a single run of film can cover cleanly, so seam placement is planned in advance along natural body lines, trim strips or door edges, where joins are least noticeable.

Stretch conversions vary. Extended sections may be steel, aluminium or fibreglass, and the paint on them is often a respray rather than factory finish, which affects how film bonds and how it may remove later. We inspect each section separately before recommending a finish. Privacy glass and any window film are treated as a separate matter: we do not wrap glass, and front windscreen and front side window film is regulated, so check current regulations before adding or changing tint.

Paint protection film (PPF) is a different product from vinyl. It is a thick, clear or matte urethane designed to absorb stone chips and scuffs on high-impact areas such as the bonnet and front bumper, and it does not change colour. Some operators combine PPF on the front end with a colour-change wrap or leave the original paint and protect it instead. Interior trim on limousines, such as bar surrounds, consoles and panel inserts, is assessed individually, because materials and access differ from vehicle to vehicle.

Suitable vehicles and common uses

  • Stretch limousines used for weddings, matric farewells and events
  • Executive sedans and luxury SUVs used for chauffeur and VIP transfers
  • Hire companies wanting a matched look across several vehicles
  • Owners changing a limousine to gloss white or gloss black for wedding work
  • Operators adding small, discreet logos rather than full advertising
  • Vehicles with tired paint on extended sections that need a uniform finish

Available options

  • Full colour change in gloss, satin or matte finishes, subject to material availability
  • Colour-change vinyl from 3M and Avery Dennison ranges, subject to material availability
  • Chrome accents, or chrome delete on window surrounds, grilles and badges
  • Discreet logo, website or phone number placement for hire companies
  • Contrast roof or pillar wraps
  • Front-end or high-impact paint protection film, with or without a colour change
  • Selected interior trim wraps, assessed individually

Options depend on the material available at the time of your project and on your vehicle. We confirm exactly what is possible in your quotation.

Why choose it

  • Change a limousine’s colour to suit wedding or corporate work without a full respray
  • Gives extended sections and original panels one consistent finish
  • Discreet branding keeps the vehicle elegant while making your company easy to find
  • Damaged panels can often be rewrapped individually instead of redoing the whole vehicle
  • Original paint stays underneath if you later return the vehicle to standard

Things to consider

  • Very long side panels usually need at least one planned seam
  • Resprayed or fibreglass stretch sections may not bond or remove as predictably as factory paint
  • We do not wrap glass, and window tint is subject to regulation
  • Workshop fit depends on the vehicle’s length and is confirmed before booking
  • Existing chips, filler marks or flaking clear coat will show through the film

Preparation and installation process

  1. Length and fit check. We confirm the vehicle’s overall length and turning needs so we know it fits the workshop before anything is booked.
  2. Section-by-section inspection. Original and extended panels are checked separately for paint type, repairs and clear-coat health, and interior trim is assessed if it is part of the job.
  3. Seam and layout plan. We map where seams will fall on the long panels and where any logos will sit, and agree it with you before work starts.
  4. Preparation and fitting removal. The vehicle is cleaned and decontaminated, and handles, badges, lights and trim are removed where practical.
  5. Application and post-heating. Film is applied panel by panel, with long runs handled by more than one installer to keep alignment straight, then edges are post-heated.
  6. Final inspection. Fittings are refitted and we walk around the vehicle with you, checking seams, edges, doors and any branding placement.

What affects the price

  • Overall vehicle length and the number of extended panels
  • Finish chosen; chrome and specialist films cost more and take longer to install
  • Full colour change, accents only or branding only
  • Condition and type of paint on original and stretch sections
  • Whether door shuts, interior trim or PPF are included
  • Logo artwork or layout work required

Every vehicle is different, so we quote each job individually. Your final quotation depends on the vehicle, the material, how much of the vehicle is covered, any artwork, and the condition of the paint once we have assessed it.

Turnaround

Timing depends on the vehicle’s length, how many panels and fittings need to come off, the finish chosen, the condition of the extended sections and whether PPF or interior trim is added. Because limousines are often booked for weekend events, tell us your upcoming bookings so we can plan around them. We confirm timing with your quote once the vehicle has been assessed. Our installation workmanship is backed by a 5-year workmanship guarantee.

Care and maintenance

  • Hand wash with a pH-neutral shampoo, especially before and after event bookings
  • Use separate clean microfibre cloths for the long side panels to avoid dragging grit along them
  • Keep pressure washer nozzles well back from seams and panel edges
  • Remove confetti residue, ribbon adhesive and decorations carefully without scraping the film
  • Do not attach tape or suction-cup decorations to satin or matte film without asking us first
  • Park under cover where possible between bookings

Frequently asked questions

Can my stretch limousine fit in your workshop?

It depends on the vehicleu2019s length and how it needs to be manoeuvred. We confirm the fit for each vehicle before booking it in, so send us the make, model and approximate length when you enquire.

Where will the seams be on a stretch limo?

Long side panels usually need a planned join. We place seams along body lines, trim strips or door edges where they are least visible, and show you the layout before we start.

Can you wrap my limo white for wedding season and change it back later?

A colour-change wrap can later be removed or replaced with another colour. How cleanly it removes depends on the paint underneath, especially on resprayed stretch sections, so we check this during the inspection.

Can you add our company logo without making the car look like an advert?

Yes. Many operators prefer a small logo or website on the rear doors, boot or rear pillar. We help you choose a size and position that stays legible without spoiling the vehicleu2019s lines.

Do you tint the windows as well?

We do not wrap glass, and window film rules apply, particularly to the front windscreen and front side windows. Check current regulations with a tint specialist before changing the glass.
