Vehicle Wrap Design and Artwork

From brief to print-ready files: vehicle templates, proofs, colour checks and revisions for printed wraps and graphics.

Every printed wrap or graphic starts with artwork. This service covers taking your idea, logo or existing design and turning it into print-ready files that fit your specific vehicle.

It suits private owners wanting a custom printed design, businesses that need vehicle branding, and anyone with a design that has to be adapted to a vehicle’s shape.

About this service

Design starts with a brief. We discuss what you want the vehicle to say, colours, images, logos, text and the vehicle make, model and year. We work from vehicle templates, which are scaled outlines of the vehicle, then verify key measurements on your actual vehicle so artwork lines up with handles, lights, gaps and body lines.

You receive proofs showing the design on the vehicle outline from each side. Screen colours and printed colours differ, so where colour matters, such as a brand colour, we can arrange a printed colour proof so you can see the actual result in daylight before production. Revisions are made at proof stage, and how many rounds are included is agreed with your quote.

If you have artwork, vector files such as AI, PDF or EPS are best, with fonts outlined. Photos and raster images need to be high resolution at full vehicle size, and low-resolution images will look blurry when enlarged. Ownership of the final artwork and working files should be agreed in writing before design starts, so ask us to confirm this for your project.

Suitable vehicles and common uses

  • Custom printed colour change wraps
  • Business vehicle branding and lettering
  • Fleet designs needing a master layout
  • Event and promotional vehicles
  • Racing stripes, accents and custom graphics
  • Owners with logos that must be adapted to a vehicle

Available options

  • Full design from your brief
  • Adaptation of your existing artwork to your vehicle
  • Layout only, using your supplied logos and images
  • Printed colour proofs for brand colours
  • Design for one vehicle or a set of vehicle types
  • Preparation of supplied files for print

Options depend on the material available at the time of your project and on your vehicle. We confirm exactly what is possible in your quotation.

Why choose it

  • Artwork that fits your vehicle’s real dimensions
  • Proofs from each side before anything is printed
  • Colour checks before production for brand colours
  • Fewer surprises at installation
  • Print-ready files suited to wrap film

Things to consider

  • Screen colours never match printed film exactly
  • Low-resolution images cannot be enlarged without losing quality
  • Templates are guides; measurements must be checked on the vehicle
  • Handles, gaps and curves interrupt artwork
  • Artwork ownership must be agreed separately for each project

Preparation and installation process

  1. Brief. We discuss your goals, colours, content, vehicle details and any brand guidelines.
  2. Templates and measuring. A vehicle template is used and key measurements checked on your actual vehicle.
  3. Concept proofs. Designs are shown on the vehicle outline from each side for your feedback.
  4. Revisions. Changes are made at proof stage, within the revision rounds agreed with your quote.
  5. Colour proofing. Where colours matter, a printed sample is checked in daylight before production.
  6. Final approval and print files. You sign off the final proof and print-ready files are prepared.

What affects the price

  • Complexity of the design
  • Whether artwork is created from scratch or adapted
  • Number of vehicle types or sides designed
  • Number of revision rounds
  • Printed colour proofing
  • Image sourcing or preparation

Every vehicle is different, so we quote each job individually. Your final quotation depends on the vehicle, the material, how much of the vehicle is covered, any artwork, and the condition of the paint once we have assessed it.

Turnaround

Timing depends on the clarity of the brief, how quickly supplied files and feedback arrive, the number of revision rounds and whether colour proofing is needed. Design approval comes before printing and installation are scheduled. We confirm timing with your quote.

Care and maintenance

  • Keep your final approved files safe for future repairs or reprints
  • Note the film and print details for consistent replacement panels
  • Send brand guidelines with your brief to avoid revisions
  • Supply the highest quality files available
  • Check proofs carefully, especially spelling and contact details

Frequently asked questions

What file formats should I supply?

Vector files such as AI, PDF or EPS are best for logos and text, with fonts outlined. Photos should be high resolution at the size they will appear on the vehicle.

Why does the printed colour look different from my screen?

Screens emit light, while printed film reflects it, and each screen shows colours differently. A printed colour proof checked in daylight is the reliable way to judge colour.

Who owns the artwork?

Ownership of the final artwork and working files should be agreed in writing before design starts. Ask us to confirm the terms for your project.

How many revisions do I get?

The number of revision rounds is agreed with your quote. Clear briefs and consolidated feedback help keep revisions focused.

Can you use a design I found online?

Only if you have the rights to use it. We cannot print images, logos or artwork you do not have permission to use.
