Front End Paint Protection Film
Clear PPF on the bumper, bonnet, front wings and mirrors – the areas that face most road debris.
Clear PPF for premium Lexus paint, plus satin wraps and trim work planned around the spindle grille and sensors.
Lexus owners around Sandton drive everything from the compact UX and the IS sports sedan to the NX and RX SUVs and the large LX. These vehicles share deep, multi-layer factory paint and the bold spindle grille, and most of the work we’re asked about is either protecting that paint or making subtle changes to the trim.
Car Colour Wraps is an independent wrap and PPF workshop in Rivonia. We are not affiliated with or approved by Lexus or Toyota. We use 3M and Avery Dennison vinyl films for wraps, and clear paint protection film for stone-chip protection.
The spindle grille dominates the front of most Lexus models, and on newer designs it blends into the bodywork. Its mesh or patterned inserts are usually too intricate to wrap neatly and are left in their original finish, while the surround can sometimes be covered as a trim item. On many models a radar unit sits behind the Lexus badge or within the grille area, and we never cover it with film. Slim LED headlights, fog light housings and parking sensors are trimmed around precisely.
Lexus paints are known for their depth and colour, and many owners would rather protect them than cover them. Clear paint protection film is a thick urethane film designed to absorb stone chips and light scuffs without changing the colour. Front-end coverage is the usual starting point, and full-vehicle PPF suits owners who want the whole car covered, subject to an assessment of the paint.
The IS has a lower, sportier profile that suits satin or matte colour changes, black roofs and subtle stripes. The UX and NX are popular for contrast roofs and darker trim. The RX and LX are larger and often driven long distances, so PPF on the front end and lower doors is a common request. On the LX, some of the large bright grille and trim areas can be darkened, though detailed parts are judged case by case.
If your Lexus is new, PPF is easiest to apply before chips build up. If it already has damage, film cannot hide it and may not bond well over failing paint, so we discuss this during the assessment.
Check any finance or lease agreement before a colour change, and tell your insurer about any wrap. Our 5-year workmanship guarantee covers our installation workmanship, not the life of the film or colour.
